This is the quiet announcement hidden inside 117. The long work has a horizon. The horizon is closer than it has been in a long time.

What the Hermit Knows

The Hermit does not look like someone who has completed anything, at first glance.

He looks like an old person on a mountain, alone, holding a light. No crown. No retinue. No stage on which to announce the journey's end. Just the figure, the lantern, and the quiet.

But look more carefully. The Hermit is at the top of the mountain. He did not begin there. He walked. He was, before he was the Hermit, every other figure in the deck. He was the Magician at the table with all the tools. He was the Chariot driver with the reins. He was the one who fell and the one who rose. Everything in the cycle is in him.

That is what completion in the 9 sense actually means. Full of ��� which is the opposite of done with. Ripe with everything the road put into him.

When a numerical sequence begins with a doubled start, wins through to victory in the middle, and reduces to 9 at the end, it is describing a soul who has lived the long arc.

The Magician's spark became the Chariot's discipline became the Hermit's knowing. There are no shortcuts available in that sequence. There is no one who arrives at the Hermit's lantern without having first done the Magician's starting and the Chariot's aligning.

You cannot fake 9. 9 only shows up after the road has been walked.

The Finish Line Was Always in Sight

Some numbers speak to what is coming. 117 speaks to what has already happened.

If this number has been finding you, something in your life has been starting and winning for a long time. Long enough that you may have stopped registering it as either. The starting became routine.

The winning became invisible, because it never announced itself the way television suggested victory would. There was no crowd. There was no finish ribbon snapping across your chest.

But the road kept going, and you kept walking, and the two 1s in your sequence proved themselves the way doubled beginnings do - by lasting. The finish line was in sight from the beginning. You simply could not see it yet, because your work was to keep walking toward it.
