The Soul Connection

Some writings on the subject of Numerology treat the Personality Number (Persona) as only having to do with visible aspects of the self, while others treat it as a hidden aspect of the personality, and call it the Quiet Self. In reality it comprises both. On both conscious and unconscious (collective and personal) levels, it describes our learned behaviors and how we use them to connect with our essential self, the Soul.

Most people recognize the Persona during daydreams; it is the self image. It’s also seen in one’s “personal style” which is the way we express how we feel about ourselves. One who has a Persona of 8 will not only make choices that they hope will give them power and control over their circumstances, but they spend a lot of time dreaming about what life would look like from the position of power that they strive for.

But even that is a superficial view of what the Persona implies and what its challenge can mean. Anyone’s attitude and thoughts about the self affect health, prosperity, relationships, and all other matters connected with our well-being.

The Persona is built up from experience, which is the feedback the universe gives us about our choices, thoughts, words and deeds. When one is unhappy with their circumstances, it is the Persona that responds to it – it may generate an action plan in line with its numerological value, or generate angry, self-critical, defensive or defeatist thought. These thoughts and emotions may sabotage one’s plans, and if no plans have been made, they will attract even more difficult circumstances, which may result in disturbances to the well being of the body and the mind.

While the Soul Urge is calculated by finding the sum of the Numerological values of the vowels in the name, the Persona is the sum of the consonants. And as the Soul Urge Challenge is the difference between the first and last vowel values, the Personality Challenge is found by subtracting the values of the first and last consonant of the name.

In Numerology, a challenge is not a threat. The challenges in Numerology, especially those that are derived from the name, are about choices one can make that will improve our overall circumstances. Like the Soul Urge Challenge, there is no “9” challenge to the Personality, but there is a Zero challenge, which encompasses the other 8.

How to Overcome Personality Challenge

The choices one can make in order to overcome the Personality Challenge are as follows:
One – Choose to assert your individuality
Two – Choose to cooperate with others
Three – Choose to stay on task and avoid scattering energies
Four – Choose to work without feeling oppressed by it
Five – Choose to accept change and be responsible with your freedom
Six – Choose to accept and adjust to responsibility
Seven – Choose to develop self-discipline and cultivate faith
Eight – Choose to be reliable, dependable, and focus on the bottom line
Be warned – it takes some learning and a lot of attention to overcome these challenges, but the results are well worth it. You’ll look and feel better, and may notice that your self-image becomes healthier and more balanced. This means less stress, and happier relationships; in short, every aspect of your life will improve.
