Since we discussed the nature of the LifePath Group last time, we will now focus on the chart elements that are derived from your name – the Expression Group.
All the various chart components that come from your name – the Persona (Personality Number), the Soul Urge, the Cornerstones, the Karmic Lesson and others are part of the Expression. Although someone else, like a parent or guardian may have named you, it was the first gift that you were given, and it was a choice – which gradually awakens the element of existence that we can only call the power of choice.
The Expression Group
The Expression Group signifies the vibrations through which you can change your world, but our choices can be well or ill informed. Some patterns of choice are inherited through the name you are given, and some come from the society in which you live; the level of difficulty inherent in using the patterns of the past to your advantage is dependent totally on your willingness to choose to have a life that fulfills you.
Then there is the fact that your name can be changed. It may be done for a multitude of reasons, religious and otherwise, or as an inspired move to bring more ease into the life. Skilled Numerologists do not do this frivolously, and people who do so on a whim rarely get the results they desire.
The Expression has its own cyclic patterns of influence called Transits that give each of us the opportunity to work with every letter that composes our names, either singularly or in combination. They run alongside the LifePath vibrations and clearly mark the choices we make that improve or harm the quality of our lives.
The Soul Urge, derived from the vowels in the name, strives to express itself so it can reap the experience of the world – this is how it grows toward bliss. It works through the Persona, which is made up of the consonants of the name.
The Persona, being a part of the everyday world, sometimes gets so caught up in (or hurt by) everyday matters that the Soul withdraws its attention. When this happens, we live either unreasonably dramatic or totally robotic lives cannot fulfill us; in the worst cases, the joy of life departs from us.
The vibrations in the Expression Group carry our instincts and work to fulfill our basic human needs; our values and beliefs are cultivated here, and through them we project our innermost selves into the universe.
Through the LifePath vibrations, the universe feeds back to us what we project in the form of experience that we process, and this processing gradually changes the Persona and the Soul. This is why Self-Attunement and Mindfulness are so important – they help you learn how to get out of your own way.
The Expression always works in tandem with the LifePath to create our own futures. It’s all about choice, and this is why you can choose between a life you accept and a life you want.
Attending to the components and challenges of your chart, and working to use the elements of the Expression to your advantage can bring amazing rewards, and with a little understanding, can lead to a fulfilling and maybe even an extraordinary life.
