This is for the Nurturers… We See You
For the woman who lives her life around one big kitchen table, forever the space keeper for the unraveling of everybody’s hearts. For the listener, the witness, the woman who knows how much it means to simply be there.
We see you, with your huge heart and your soft embrace, standing open-armed for whoever falls into you next. This is for the women who gives her time, every time, who opens the door and picks up the phone however many hours past midnight it rings. Without a question, without a sigh. But you know, it’s not because anybody takes you for granted.
It’s because YOU are the one who instinctively sees how the world (and it’s children) can re-discover the paths they’ve strayed too far from. YOU create the conditions that we need, to come back to life.
And we all know it.
We see you folding up the sheets, making up the beds and smoothing down the blankets. The kettles always hot and there’s cake in the tin because you know it matters.
And we see you sweeping up the crumbs and washing up the plates.
This is for the woman who’s tired and worn out. She gives and keeps on giving because that is what they ask of her, and she never asks for anything back…
This is also for the woman who has learned that she can.
That the sanctuary you are, you can be for yourself. This is for the woman who’s not afraid to love herself first, which you know, is how you will always have enough love to share.
We see you, listening to what you need, picking up the phone and saying, “later, tomorrow, next week”. First, I need to nourish my soul, re-charge and fortify and then I’ll come for you.
This is for the woman who knows self-care isn’t all bath bombs and coloring books. She has learned that to truly overflow, she needs to enter into the matrix of her own heart and satisfy her needs. We see you figuring it out. We see you trying to get it right, and learning, finally, that there is no “right”. There’s only creativity, and creativity isn’t ever perfect. But it’s beautiful.
This is for the woman who holds the hearth.
Because she knows that kith and kin are everything and more so she’ll always put love first. We see you, with a smile on your lips and hope in your heart….
And we want you in our world.
