Wow, what a year 2018 has been eh?
If your year has been anything like mine, you will feel as if you have been sucked through a wind-tunnel and spat out the other side face first. It’s almost as if it is over before it even began. I’ll remember it as being a year of change, the ending of cycles, death and regeneration. I’ve lost many close relatives over the past 12 months, and a beloved white cat called Angel who reached the ripe of age of 18 before crossing the rainbow bridge.
So how do we prepare for 2019 to give us the best possible chance of success, joy and abundance? Here are my top 10 steps to help you to kick-start the new year with a spring in your step and fresh new energy and vitality…
Step 1: Let In The Light
We need to give the old, stale energy in our homes the chance to escape. Open the doors and windows so that negative energy can leave the building. Hoist your blinds up and allow in as much daylight as possibly can. This is the perfect cleansing ritual for each day, especially when the sun is shining.
Step 2: Smudge Your Rooms
Begin at the front of your home, light a Native American White Sage Stick and softly blow on it until it smokes. Ensure that you smudge all corners, including your cupboards and walk-in wardrobes. Be generous with the smoke remembering that it can easily escape out the open doors and windows, taking the old, negative energy with it. Say a mantra as you move around the house, setting an intention to cleanse and clear as this will heighten this rituals effectiveness.
Step 3: Bring In Some Greenery
Flowers and plants help to cleanse the air in your home on a daily basis. They bring in joy and happiness through their vibrant colors that will uplift your soul. I like to locate them in an auspicious corner of my home or somewhere they can be appreciated by all who come to visit me. Make sure you throw out flowers when they die and remove brown leaves from you plants allowing room for new growth.
Step 4: Turn Up The Tunes
Sound frequencies will permeate every corner of your home so crank up the volume on your wireless speakers and pump out some uplifting tunes. Feel the vibrations pulsating through your cells and dance like nobody is watching you (even if the cat is looking at you strangely, keep on moving your body).
Step 6: Spritz In Some Color
Time to bring in some positive vibes. I like to use Color Mirrors Essence Sprays and in particular the Clear Angel of Purity, Grace and Clarity. This angel clears and purifies us and our surrounds, bringing up closer to a state of grace. It brings light and clarity to any situation and helps us shift stuck energy. Alternatively, you could use the Pink Angel of Love and Partnership which instantly brings in love and support when we feel we need it the most.
Step 7: Cleanse Your Crystals
Nurture your crystals by placing them in a bowl of purified water and placing them in the sunlight or moonlight for a few hours. Reset the intention for each crystal you own to activate its power. You may want to place a piece of black tourmaline into the corners of each room to absorb negative energies throughout 2019.
Step 6: Dust & Declutter
Go and grab your vacuum, some polish, a duster and the mop and bucket then honor your home with a thorough clean and make it sparkle like a diamond. Make sure you hoover underneath the beds and sofas where the fur-balls hide, suck up the dead flies from behind the blinds. Then clean, clean and clean again. Mopping the and floors until they smell as fresh as a daisy. Next, take one room at a time, separate items into three piles called KEEP, GIFT and TRASH and be ruthless. The less clutter in your rooms, the less clutter in your mind. Did you really like that porcelain figurine from the garage sale?
Step 8: Bathe Your Body
I like to bathe in color frequencies but fresh water is cleansing and restorative on its own.
Try experimenting with flower essences, your favorite crystals, Epsom salts, essential oils or even flower petals to amplify this healing experience. It is essential that we nurture our energetic bodies as often as our physical body so spend a good hour submerged in the warming water until you feel your muscles are relaxed and softened.
Step 9: Digital Detox
Why not give yourself a break from technology over the festive period. Switch off your devices and be present with friends and family. Electromagnetic emanations from your tablet, computer or mobile phone can play havoc with your subtle bodies so try and avoid them for the rest of 2018. Test yourself. See if you can live without them. At least during your Christmas dinner…
Step 10: Host A Positive Party
Welcome in the new year by inviting all of your favorite people to your newly spruced home. Avoid the energy vampires, just include people who uplift your spirits when you are around them. Maybe include a theme like, ‘A Yellow Party’ where everyone must arrive wearing an item of yellow clothing. It can be fun to see how much effort people go to and can be a great reason to make everyone smile and laugh together.
Step 11: Set Your Goals
It really is the best time to sit down with a paper and pen and write down what you want to achieve over the next 12 months. You could also create a Dream Board. Who do you want to be by the end of the year? How will your life have moved forward? And then ask yourself, will be it be ok for you to still be in exactly the same situation as you are now by the turn of 2020. If the answer is no, then you may need to do a bit of personal development to allow in greater abundance, love and prosperity.
