your home is a sanctuaryPin

There is no better feeling than walking through the door to a room you love to be in. Your home is a positive place of peace and tranquility, your entire life is uplifted. Your spirit feels calm and safe, and it helps you be happy and healthy.

Until recently, most people around the world would return home after spending the majority of their day at work. Now many of us are working from home, and spending almost all of our time inside of our houses. The need for making our space as tranquil and happy as possible has become even more important.

The great news is, there are many simple things we can do to create a space of tranquility, positivity and magic!

By making some small changes, your home can be a place that re-energizes you, which is especially helpful during this time!

Follow the tips below to create a more magically tranquil home…

1. Bring Nature Indoors

When you bring elements from nature into your home, it transforms the space into a soothing sanctuary. Think of the four elements of nature; air, water, earth and fire. Integrate each of these into your home for balance.

Here are some simple ways to do that…

  • Bring in fresh air by opening your windows and letting in as much air and sunlight as possible.
  • Bring in plants and flowers from the earth to beautify your space. Plant magical herbs, such as basil, mint or rosemary, in little pots, and grow them in your kitchen.
  • If you have a small water fountain, turn it on and let the soothing sound of running water calm your nervous system. If you don’t have a water feature, do what I do, and play videos of soothing river water sounds on YouTube!
  • Light a cozy fire in your fireplace, if you have one, or listen to the crackle of a fireplace on YouTube!

2. Make it Smell Lovely

Relax and unwind with calming scents throughout your place. A great way to feel peaceful is to light scented candles or burn incense.

Another great way to use scent to unwind is to bake. There is nothing quite as cozy and joyous as the smell of baking bread or cookies!

3. Release the Clutter

All of your belongings are made of energy. When we don’t regularly clean out our homes, and let things go, our home fills with clutter. This clutter creates chaotic and stagnant energy. By releasing items that no longer bring you joy, you magically make the space in your life for new joyous experiences to come in!

When your personal space feels clean and peaceful, your life feels clean and peaceful.

4. Get Extra Cozy

Turn your space into a sanctuary by creating a super cozy corner for relaxation! I have a big comfy chair in my home, which I have adorned with the softest blankets. As often as possible, I make a cup of tea, snuggle up in my big comfy chair, and relax with a great book.

5. Raise the Vibe

Increase the positive vibrations in your home by first clearing out the negative ones. Do this by smudging your house with sage, and sprinkling a little salt around the perimeter of your home. Both Sage smoke and salt remove negative energy from physical spaces.

Once you have removed negative energy from your space, bring in tranquil energy by spraying rose water all-around your home. The essence of the rose water will lift the energy of each room, and its scent will leave your home feeling wonderfully calm and peaceful.

The more time you spend in your home, the more important it is to consciously be aware of the energy your space is holding. By making just a few simple changes, your home can become a magical place of tranquility, and a true sanctuary for your spirit!
