Leo writes: “Why do I always sabotage my relationships?”
When I connect with your spirit guides, I get the message that you sustained an injury when you were about four years old, in which you felt taken for granted or not appreciated by the people around you. I feel as if you were harshly criticized for expressing some aspect of yourself, and that criticism was intensely hurtful.
The story you told yourself from that moment on sounds something like, “I don’t matter.” This story has you pushing people away if they get too close. I’m also sensing anger about how people have disappointed you in the past.
First, none of this is your fault. As spirits living a human life, we endure wounds when we’re growing up that shape our adult lives. It’s okay. Your spirit guides want you to recognize just how loving and kind you truly are. They show me that you have an incredible sense of humor and you’re also a loyal friend.
Rather than go on believing you sabotage your relationships (and judging yourself for it), begin telling yourself a new story: You are a loyal companion and friend with so much love to give.
When you don’t take yourself for granted, and you love, honor, and appreciate yourself, you won’t need to protect yourself from other people’s judgments or criticism anymore. Love will pour out from you because love is your nature, and you will no longer feel the need to push people away.
Give yourself the unconditional acceptance you never received as a child, and your entire experience of relationship will change.
I have faith in you; I know you can do it.
