It might seem counterintuitive, but the best way to experience prosperity is to stop trying. When I say “stop trying,” I don’t mean that you give up or resign yourself to being financially stressed. I mean, let go of struggle. Imagine that you’re rowing a boat upstream in a storm, and, exhausted, you decide to let go of the oars and let the boat drift, knowing that God/Spirit/Life is going to carry your boat where it needs to go.
Spirit guides invite you to recognize that all your life, you have been provided for.
You’ve survived until this moment, somehow, even though you may have had many challenges along the way.
When you were an infant, you had no concept of lack. You didn’t worry about anything. Life took care of you, and you were fed, clothed, and cared for. Since then, you’ve probably (more or less) had a full belly, enough clothes to wear, electricity and hot and cold water — an impossible miracle in some parts of the world. Recognizing how wealthy you really are always leads to gratitude.
Just by recognizing your wealth, how much is here for you to experience, and how much you’ve already experienced, you can let go of struggle, knowing that you’re being supported through life.
Spirit guides want you to enjoy your life.
They recognize that it’s a wild ride — with heartbreaks and loss, joy and wonder. There is no shortage of experiences to be had, and you get to experience all of it.
I remember the day I let go of struggling to make enough money in my business to support myself. I gave the struggle to my angels and guides, and breathed deep. I busied myself in other ways, getting organized, cleaning out closets and doing things that made me feel like I was being productive. And I honestly felt relieved. I knew that somehow, life would take care of me the same way it did when I was a baby — and miraculously, it did. I continued to be able to pay my bills. So instead of worrying constantly, I got to experience what it’s like not to worry and trust that I’d be able to get by. Worrying and trying harder never made me feel better or helped me get closer to my goals.
It’s when I made my gratitude list that things really got good.
I started with the little things — my bathrobe, a warm bed, hot coffee — and then realized those things aren’t so little. Wars have been fought over coffee, and humans have been sleeping in crowded beds to keep out the cold for centuries. And here I was, with flannel sheets and central heating. Amazing! As I continued to make my list, my awareness of my own wealth grew, until that perception of my abundance began to create more to be grateful for.
Give the energy of struggle to your spirit guides, or to God — whatever feels most peaceful to you — and focus on the incredible wealth you have right now. Even if you are unemployed and facing fearful scenarios, recognize that in this moment, you are okay. You are reading these words and life is supporting you. Your heart is beating, your hair is growing, your liver is detoxing, and all of these processes are happening without your having to do anything. Life is there for you, creating the circumstances that push your soul into the adventurous realms it wishes to go.
With so much love on your continuing journey,
