Unfortunately, many women today have health issues related to their reproductive systems. This is, in part, because of the loss of our connection to our bodies and cycles, its power and sacredness. To return to this connection is to return to nature, and its own power and sacredness and this is where natural remedies can help.
And speaking of nature, ever since being introduced to herbs and essential oils, I’ve been blown away finding out how so many of them are so beneficial for bringing equilibrium to women during their phases.
Below are listings of just some of the many plant allies that assist in natural remedies for women’s health, and how they may be used to bring balance. If you suffer from problems such as endometriosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or painful periods, or you’re struggling with symptoms pertaining to menopause, these remedies are great natural alternatives to prescription medication.
Herbs for Women’s Health Natural Remedies
The rose is mentioned first because it is one of the most powerful plant allies out there. It emits the energy of love which can be so powerful when it comes to natural remedies. Roses open and heal the heart and soothe emotions, so they are helpful when women feel emotional during particular parts of their cycles.
The rose is also the flower of ultimate femininity. It connects us with our womanhood and helps to balance our hormones.
Red clover is amazing for women. It is mineral-rich and cleansing and is known to ease symptoms related to low estrogen levels (which is particularly useful during menopause). Drink the tea regularly to ease pre-menstrual and menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes and joint inflammation,
Often referred to as the ‘uterine tonic’, this is perhaps the most used herb in women’s health for the benefits it can give to a whole spectrum of issues that women may experience. This natural miracle helps to tone and cleanse the uterus, and it relieves cramps and clears stagnant blood in the womb. Although this herb can help with fertility, it is recommended that you avoid during the beginning of pregnancy, but use during the last trimester to aid with labor.
Like the rose, this herb is calming and helps with heart-related issues. It helps heal our relationships to our mothers. Culpepper says, “It makes women joyful mothers of children”. On both a physical and emotional level, this herb can be a magic plant for women. It helps with pre-menstrual, menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms. It also helps with menstrual issues and regulates blood flow, and it’s regularly used to ease endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids and depression and anxiety.
