PinI have a candle, given to me by a good friend, from a company called SHINE. SHINE’s tag line is: Live Your Fire. And every time I light my candle that message calls to me and stirs something deep within.

What I think it stirs is a reminder of the brilliance of the light that lives within each and every one of us, you and me included. And that started me wondering.

How often do I live that light?

How often do you live that light?

And what would your life look like if you lived that light, lived your fire, each and every day?

My definition of your fire is that your fire is your deepest, truest self.

If that’s the case, then ask yourself how often you live your fire?

Three elements are needed for a fire:

  • Oxygen
  • A fuel of some sort
  • The heating of that fuel to a certain temperature.

So let’s get your fire going!

Here’s what I want you to do:

1. Breathe!

But not just any breath. Your fire needs your deep, cleansing breaths – the kind of breathing you might do during meditation or deep relaxation – the kind of breathing that brings oxygen to each and every cell of your being. Get that oxygen moving by doing 10 to 20 really deep breaths.

2. Now you need some fuel

I think your fuel is the dreams you have for your life. Those dreams flow from your individuality – your originality – what it is that makes you uniquely YOU. So you want to collect your fuel. Spend some time visualizing your dream manifest. See it, feel it, hear it, sense it and believe it. You only want the highest grade of fuel for your fire so spend the time to bring your dream to life in every way possible in the visualization. See yourself filled with joy. See yourself being of service to the world simply by offering your gifts and talents without reservation.

3.  Find the right temperature

Now what is the way to heat your fuel to just the right temperature to live your fire? For this I believe you need the flint of a healthy self-image, loving self-esteem and the willingness to make yourself a priority in your own life. This third step might be the most difficult but if you really want to live your fire you have to make that commitment.

The oxygen part is easy – it is your breath. Even visualizing your dreams – your fuel – isn’t that difficult.

Now Here Comes The Hard Part:

But, in order to live your fire, you need to connect the light (the fire) in every cell and you can only do that if you are willing to give yourself precious time to step out of your busy life and just BE.

You can leave a fire unattended for only so long. Without your loving presence, it may dim or go out. Without your loving presence it may change direction or you may become consumed in other areas of your life so you can avoid feeling the pain of ignoring the fire rising up within.

I’m asking you to find what it means for you to Live Your Fire.

You may have to go back a ways to remember what really stirs your passion, your interest, your curiosity, your joy. But, in this short time you will be here on the planet, isn’t it worth it to find your own aliveness?

And to be fully alive – to really give your gifts and talents to the world – you need to live that fire.

Burn brightly my beloved ones!
