This week’s theme is SERVICE and the chakra we are focusing on for healing is the 2nd chakra. This is the chakra just below the navel and it is the color orange. Our affirmation is: I deserve to be happy.
Legend of Honey Adams
Honey Adams had three children whom she loved dearly and she lived a good life but she could not help feeling regretful as she lay on her deathbed. She never pursued her other passions or invested in a career so somehow she felt as if she never measured up and that somehow she should have done more with her time. At the last hour, she realized that she had left a great legacy to her daughter Frannie and that being a mother is a selfless act of service and a great accomplishment to be proud of.
Joy of Serving
Every day during my meditation time I say”Use me Lord for a purpose greater than myself and how can I be a blessing to others today? When you begin your day with service everything else begins to flow in your life. There is something about purposefully stating your intention in the morning that creates a sacredness as the day unfolds. It’s an opportunity to watch for moments to help others with a kind word or sometimes it’s about staying out of someone’s way. Knowing when a good time to approach them is and being respectful of their energy.
Relationships are an interplay of give and take. Remembering that we are all carrying our own issues and struggles makes it easy to slow down and not be reactive. Innocent until proven guilty is one of the mantras I use when someone upsets me. It helps to keep those stories about how everyone is out to get me at bay.
3 Words to Rebalance your Second Chakra
How can you be a blessing to others? These 3 words will assist you in finding more joy and fulfillment in your life this week.
Compassion is the ability to care deeply for others and try to think of ways you can make their load lighter whether it’s just a warm smile or taking time to be PRESENT with them. Your energy makes a difference in the world.
To be loyal to oneself and those around you takes courage. Sometimes when everyone else is turning their back it’s hard to stay and fight the good fight but when you stay true to yourself you are serving the world in unimagined ways.
Strength comes when we feel good about ourselves and serving others is a simple yet very easy way to increase your self-esteem and feel more grounded in who you are. Research has proven that if you are feeling depressed the best way to snap out of it is to do something nice for someone else. It gives the brain a rush of endorphins which are those “feel good” hormones we all need to function optimally.
“Finding Value” Meditation
Take a nice deep breath and close your eyes (if you’re able).
Continue breathing deeply and completely for 3 full breaths.
As you relax deeper I want you to imagine moving into your safe place. This may be different than your happy place or it may be the same.
Take another deep breath and as you exhale you become aware of the presence of Honey Adams she is there with you in this safe place. She has traveled far to see you.
Take a moment to speak with her about your regrets in life or any fears you may have. It doesn’t matter what you say, she is there to just listen.
Why is this place safe for you?
It’s time for her to go. Feel her embrace you and stroke your hair as she tells you your life has been worth it, you are valued and you have provided value to others. Hear any closing words of encouragement or wisdom she has to share with you.
Watch her walk into the tangerine light that calms and soothes your soul.
Take one last deep breath and open your eyes.
What was the last thing you told her or she told you? Take a moment and write it down to ponder on throughout the day.
This meditation is going to help you heal and clear any blockages in that 2nd chakra which is all about confidence and communication.
Question of the Week
Last week we looked at mysticism with the 6th chakra and now we move into the 2nd chakra this week with service. Time to think of others and how you are showing up for yourself as well. One thing I changed in my life this year is to show up for me as much as I do everyone else in my life.
It’s been super fun and I feel so nurtured and cared for instead of used up and taken advantage of all the time. You should try it!
