Life Path 5: Tarot Birth Card – The Hierophant
The Hierophant is the ancestral figure of the tarot. As the masculine counterpart to the High Priestess, he is sometimes referred to as the High Priest, the Pope or even the Shaman in some decks. As an archetype, he represents our universal connection to the rest of life on this planet, and to what has gone before us. The Hierophant, in particular, symbolizes the ways in which the events of the past have shaped our lives and how its energy still touches us.
In terms of the Tarot Birth Card, it can be difficult to see, at first, how this archetype connects to the number 5, which is typically regarded as carefree, spontaneous and adventurous. But in fact, despite seeming to be ungrounded and fleeting, the 5 is probably one of the numbers most connected to the essence of what it is to be human.
